St. Peter's Church is situated in the village of Lenton, making up the Parish of Lenton, Hanby, Keisby and Osgodby in south Lincolnshire.
The settlement of Lofinton (Lavington-cum-Lenton) predates the Domesday Survey and lies to the west of the Roman road, King Street, which ran between Ancaster in the north to Bourne in the south.

Lenton is 9.5 miles south east of Grantham and is a steady 15-20 minute drive from there.
